Singer Chrisette Michele has endured the many hair woes of women when it comes to weaves, relaxers, dye jobs. Recently, she made the decision to go back to being all natural shaving all her hair off.
Chrisette recently spoke with Essence magazine about her transformation saying:
"With all the heat damage and chemical abuse my hair went through, I just decided to go back to natural," says the Grammy-winning R&B songstress, who recently shaved her head for the third time in her life. "It doesn't need as much professional attention as my usual hairstyle...the weaves, the glued-in pieces; they're so damaging."
She made the decision to cut it off while on tour. She was touring four two months and said it was like "torture" to do her hair everyday. When the tour was over, she had her bandmates take her to the barber to make the cut. Either way, she still looks stunning.
I can identify with wanting to just make the ultimate chop. I've had my hair in a boy cut style, the "Halle Berry" style, braids, blonde, etc. For me, it's more about a mood I'm in when choosing a style. Right now, I'm wearing a weave. It's my first time ever wearing one. In the beginning, it felt like a hat on my head 24/7...lol. I've gotten used to it. I'm not quite sure style is next.
