Michael Jackson performing at Motown 25 Special in 1983
Michael Jackson's iconic white glove which he wore at the 1983 Motown 25 Special will be auctioned at the Hard Rock Café in New York's Times Square.
Jackson wore many gloves over the years, but this glove in particular was a modified store-bought glove covered with rhinestones. It's estimated the glove is worth between $40,000-$60,000. The glove has been in the possession of Commodores member Walter "Clyde" Orange, who received it from Jackson the night he wore it.
Jackson and Orange had an ongoing joke over the years of how Jackson denied giving him his autograph because he felt he was more famous. At the Motown 25 Special, after Jackson's memorable performance at which he unveiled his Moonwalk, he gave Orange the trademark glove instead.
