I haven't had a professional manicure in 4 months. Once I learned how to do it myself, I bought tons of products and tried new designs. This latest design came about because I was feeling fun and flirty. Ladies, I'm sure you've had those days. You can achieve a similar design with the products below.

Rock and Republic Sunnies, Chaps Shirt, Juicy Couture Earrings, H&M Necklace, Merona Coat
This weekend was pretty eventful. I had an iced coffee/ice cream date with mom on Saturday. The weather was so nice, I wanted my look to reflect that by color blocking red and pink. On Sunday, I hit up the 40/40 Nightclub to watch the Superbowl. While I'm not a football fan, I attended anyway for the entertainment value. I'm originally from New England, but live in NY so I had to cause a bit of controversy rooting the Patriots. Loll. It was all in fun. We New Yorkers sure came together when the Giants won. At the end of the night, there was a Jay-Z spotting who owns the club as well.

Random jewels and ASOS Envelope Clutch (here's a similar style here.)
I usually don't pile on alot of jewels so early in the morning. I was feeling exceptionally feisty that day. I was in a great mood and wanted my accessories to reflect that. That was the first time I had worn orange nail polish. I kinda liked it.

When I finally learned how to do my own manicure, I began to get a little more creative with colors and designs. I've been pretty obsessed with glitter nail strips. I was on the hunt for a nail polish that reflected just as well. I found this glitter nail polish that goes on like gem stones. I swiped the glitter polish on an angle. Then dapped the brush to give the gemstones a full effect alongside the blue metallic polish. I wore this look while hitting up my cousin's birthday dinner/party festivities this past weekend.

Express Sequin dress,Michael Antonio Glitter Shoes
I look at the new year as a fresh start. I haven't made any resolutions. However, I wanted to go into 2012 with a positive mindset. I believe how the beginning of the year starts sets the tone for the remainder. In the past, typically, I've worn a LBD with fly shoes (Iike I did here). I wanted to kick off 2012 with a look that reflected my mood: daring, fun and flirty. All sequins and sparkly everything including my nails was my look for New Year's Eve. I'm proud to say I spent less than $200 on my outfit.

{Streaming wreath on a midtown office building}
As Christmas gets closer ( 5 days away), I've become increasingly in the holiday spirit. I was in the city yesterday for my first spa appointment (which was amazing) as well as taking in the sights. I came across a few pretty and interestingly funny displays. I also picked up a few holiday inspired things that made me smile and anxiously awaiting the 25th.

{Hershey's peppermint , white chocolate "Kiss" with bits of peppermint inside}

{Limited edition candy-cane inspired nail strips}

{An offbeat Santa display}

Avon Beret, Espirit Coat, Vintage Cardigan, Street Vendor Scarf, Michael Kors Leggings and Satchel, Club Monaco Riding Gloves, Timberland Boots
The weather in New York has become increasingly colder. My motto is just because the weather is horrible doesn't mean we need to look a hot mess. I stuck with the basics of a wool military coat and lace-up flat boots. I added a bit of sequins, leopard and a coral lip to pull it together. I was heading to Target and I'm proud to say I stuck to my list and spent less than $20. I always overspend there.

Black and gold leather Cubannie Link earrings
I've been through several phases with color obsessions. I always go back to rocking black. I've hardly worn any seasonal appropriate colors of red and green, but when wearing black, I've added gold to give it a luxe feel.

I had compiled a list of a few things I needed to add to my closet. With all the craziness frm Versace x H&M, I figured I wouldn't get anything. I woke a 5am last Saturday and did what any Fashionista would do- head to the city and try to pick up a few pieces. I went to a smaller store so it wasn't as hectic and it was very organized. Plus a new mani and fuschia lipstick didn't hurt either.

On the East Coast, the temps have been in the 60s which makes it pretty hard to remember that we are in the winter season. While I refuse to change my coat (I'm currently rocking this style), I do lighten up on the layers. I believe you don't have to purchase an entire new wardrobe. A few additions can spice up the closet. Here is how I winterized mine:

{Jeweled plaid}
{Sequin beret}

{Trying on leather and lace gloves}

{Chevron stripe faux-fur jacket}
