{Cinco de Mayo style: colorful cropped top and printed platforms}
Recently, I went into my closet to see what I needed for summer. I was amazed that I had so many black and grey pieces (I think it's a NY thing). I took the plunge and vowed to only purchase pieces that consisted of bright, bold colors.

Embellished coral semi-sheer top. I'd rock this with cut-off shorts and flat sandals.

Chevron print dress. I love the pops of coral in it.

I'll admit I've always looked at a striped dress as a piece reserved for daytime only. With an effort to get more bang for your buck, I came up with a way to wear the same dress more nighttime appropriate. By throwing on a tuxedo jacket, strappy heels, sequin clutch and cocktail ring, it still shows off your sexiness without trying too hard.

I haven't had a professional manicure in 4 months. Once I learned how to do it myself, I bought tons of products and tried new designs. This latest design came about because I was feeling fun and flirty. Ladies, I'm sure you've had those days. You can achieve a similar design with the products below.

I look at the new year as a fresh start. I haven't made any resolutions. However, I wanted to go into 2012 with a positive mindset. I believe how the beginning of the year starts sets the tone for the remainder. In the past, typically, I've worn a LBD with fly shoes (Iike I did here). I wanted to kick off 2012 with a look that reflected my mood: daring, fun and flirty. All sequins and sparkly everything including my nails was my look for New Year's Eve. I'm proud to say I spent less than $200 on my outfit.

The weather in New York has become increasingly colder. My motto is just because the weather is horrible doesn't mean we need to look a hot mess. I stuck with the basics of a wool military coat and lace-up flat boots. I added a bit of sequins, leopard and a coral lip to pull it together. I was heading to Target and I'm proud to say I stuck to my list and spent less than $20. I always overspend there.

I've been pretty fond of tulip skirts for sometime. The pleated detailing is eye catching. I'd be perfect to wear out on the town. Rihanna and Kerry Washington's short lengths and colors are great for the warmer months. This longer version and color are perfect for the witnter months.
In this case, by keeping the outfit simple with a silk cami, you can accessorize with standout pieces (like these earrings). You'll create an outfit that is uniquely yours.

There's no denying fall is here. I've already switched up my wardrobe a little bit and now it's time to switch up the manicure. I love rocking black nail polish, but I wanted to create a look that would sparkle a bit amongst the black on black.

These are all the essentials need to create the look: Avon Nail Laquer in Golden Twilight, Sally Hansen Nail Lacquer in Gilty Pleasure, Skinny paint brush polishes (to create the designs) and Sally Hansen Double Duty Base & Top Coat

I started off doing two coats of black and gold polish on the ring fingers.

Once the black and gold are fully dry, I added a few slashes across the golden nail with the black skinny paint brush polish. A few strokes to resemble a zebra print.

To add a bit of glitz, I added a slash of golden glitter with skinny paint brush polish on my index fingers.

I bought this bracelet about 2 years ago. I love it, but the closure would always come loose. I've risked losing it on several occassions. While I didn't want the next time for it to be out of my possession forever, I thought of another way to make use of it and guarantee it wouldn't get lost. I turned it into earrings. Here's what I did:

I unclipped each of the outside links

Each loose link is ready for the closures to be added

The hook is added

I'm tightening up the hook and any loose links

Finished and ready to hit the town!
