There were many looks at last nights 2011 American Music Awards from the men. Some were classic while others were wtf-worthy. By far, this look from Pitbull was my fave- all black paired with this red blazer. You can never be too cool rocking sunglasses indoors too. Here's a similar look I pulled together:
A man in a suit can be ridiculously sexy. There's something about a guy whose outfit looks like he put no effort into it, but still sh*ts on the competition.

As much as I'm inspired by women's street style, I tend to notice what men are wearing as well. One of my favorite looks are when men pair sneakers with a suited look. This layout is an inspired look for a project that I'm working on.

Last night I tuned into the BET Awards and it was really good. Not to mention all the foolishness going on on my Twitter timeline had me in tears. As far as the men's top fashions of the night, they went with: leather jackets, vests, and white suits.

This week has been a pretty inspiring. As I featured here and here. To end the week on a positive note, I wanted to feature some items that were inspired by Run-D.M.C. They are legends in Hip-Hop music and their style has been pretty evident in the past and the present. This shirt I wore here was my paying homage to them. Here are a few items that you fellas ( and ladies too. I'd definitely rock the watch and hoodie) can get your hands on that says I love Hip-Hop.
I have a friend who has about 50 pairs of sneakers. I never understood the fascination men have with them. I guess its the same as us with our Christian Louboutin pumps. I mean, aren't these babies beautiful? Just make you wanna spend your rent money and all :-P. I think the guys will be feeling these styles for spring/summer. I kinda like the idea of a guy wearing a nice suit, you look down and he has a fly pair of kicks on!
Rebecca Minkoff is known for having some pretty fly bags. They've come studded up and in vibrant colors. She's looking out for the fellas now. I had given you a sneak peek of the men's accessory line here. The line comes in an array of iPad cases, messenger bags and wallets. These functional bags can be worn with professional or casual looks. Don't sleep even though this is a men's collection. If you're a woman who likes structured bags too toughen up your look, these bags are a must. I like the "Urz" Leather Computer Bag. I would use it as my weekender bag.
What I find to be the hardest part is not getting myself something in the process of shopping for others. It's a challenge that I have yet to win. The only time I'm never distracted is when I'm shopping for the men in my life. Gone are the days of giving ties and argyle socks. There's really no standard of gift giving. If you know someone who loves whisky breaks, whisky glasses are perfect. If you have a book worm, these globe bookends are a great way to display his current must reads.
