This year was a huge learning experience personally and professionally. I learned a lot about myself in the process and took accountability if I was in the wrong. I had the opportunity to meet Blogger Emily Schuman of Cupcakes and Cashmere. Plus, a chance run-in with Jay-Z at the election watch party at his NYC nightclub (I'm stilll reeling off that one:)). Lastly, but certainly not least, I'm thankful for my readers and your continued support. Please keep the emails, comments, tweets coming. I wish all of you a happy, healthy and safe New Year.

Catching waves at Far Rockaway beach
I file this post under better late than never. I spent my Labor Day weekend with a friend from high school (we met in homeroom) whose about to give birth any day now. I finally hit the beach. Since the summer was unofficially coming to a close, I decided this bright manicure was a must. In the meantime, I'm prepping for Fashion's Night Out and adding key pieces for fall into my wardrobe.

One of the things I love about living in New York is that there's never a dull moment. I get a lot of my fashion inspiration from just people watching. Something will catch my eye that I just have to try. Refinery29 posted this pic on their Twitter feed. This stylista is rocking the Prada flame sandals and clutch. Pretty daring, but kinda hot.

A girl after my own heart. Short, spikey hair and neon nails are such a fun, feisty and flirty look.
By the way, please check out other neon posts here and here and let me know how you feel about the trend.

I love the times when you can wear the simplest of outfits but your handbag just makes it pop!

As Christmas gets closer ( 5 days away), I've become increasingly in the holiday spirit. I was in the city yesterday for my first spa appointment (which was amazing) as well as taking in the sights. I came across a few pretty and interestingly funny displays. I also picked up a few holiday inspired things that made me smile and anxiously awaiting the 25th.

I always say I rarely take advantage of the sights of the city like I should. The weather yesterday was a bit hot and cold. I never understood how evening temperatures can be warmer than the day. My solution was this cropped, suede jacket. I bought it with my first paycheck when I was 19 and was very excited that it still fits! While I usually don't venture out of the house on Sundays, it was a nice touch to have dinner by the water. Here are a few shots by the South Street Seaport.

First time I ever came across this photo of these two. Just love how natural they look here. I watched the Billboard awards and the shout out she gave to him upon accepting her Millenium Award was just as fitting as this photo:
"I love me some Jay-Z"
Major for a couple that's ridiculously private.

This was first time I saw Trey Songz perform at a club in the Bronx. Even then he had that #swag that had the ladies going crazy.
