Photo of the Day

Jul29

Designer Stevie BOI is noted with designing ridiculously fly eyewear and clothing.  His designs have been seen on celebs such as Rihanna and Lady Gaga just to name a few.  This is a behind the scenes photo with Amber Rose while fliming for an upcoming MTV series.

A Hint of Leopard

Jul28

Leopard print just doesn't seem to be going anywhere.  It could be worn alone or you can add accessories to make a look pop like I did here.  For those who are just a bit nervous about adding the animalistic print to your wardrobe, start small.  By adding simple jewelry, a belt or sunglasses you can still take advantage of it without looking overdone.

Leopard Print Top Frame Sunglasses - $32

Betsey Johnson - Lovely Leopard Crystal Teardrop Earrings - $40

Secrets of Stylists

Jul27

Celeb Stylists June Ambrose; Sasha Charnin Morrison (Sasha's son Oliver) and Robert Verdi

Yesterday I had the pleasure of attending the book signing for Celebrity Stylist Sasha Charnin Morrison's book Secrets of Stylists held at American Eagle. The book has a plethora of tips, advice and recommendations from various industry insiders.  It's tongue-in-cheek at times, but also gives you the real of what being a stylist entails.  Definitely don't expect to be popping bottles and sitting VIP at the hot spots in the beginning of your career.  Also on hand, were Celebrity Stylists June Ambrose and Robert Verdi to sign books as they both share vital information inside the book as well.

White Hot

Jul25

On Saturday night, Janette and I attended an all white themed party.  I had styled Janette for the event.  She wanted a girly, but edgy look.  So the v-neck dress with ruffles complimented her perfectly.  The gladiator booties in a cream color was just enough to balance the look.  The start of the night was a bit disasterous at the event.  Not to mention, it was outdoors and the 95 degree temp at midnight didn't help.  So we headed downtown to another party  and that brought a bit of relief.  Nonetheless, it turned out to be a great night.

Heatwave

Jul22

As I'm blogging its currently 100 degrees.  I had every intention of going out, but that was a deterent.  If you have to make your way in the heat, there's no reason why you can't look your best.  A simple romper, wedges, and a floppy hat to block the sun will have you looking sexy and cool.

Rewind Mock-Layer Striped Tube Romper - $48 $29.99

Topshop Natural Straw Red Band Floppy Hat - $45

J.Crew Marlow leather hobo bag - $300

Kate Spade Wish Espadrille Wedge - $225 $150

Looks for Less

Jul21

There's something sexy about a red shoe.  I was on the hunt for a cute red peep-toe platform.  While I love these YSL's, the price just didn't fit my budget at $624.  I came across this pair of peep-toe platforms by Sam Edelman.  It gives the same stylish look with a fraction of the price.

Brand Neu

Jul19

Mossimo Dress, H&M Belt, Nine West Sandals, Jessica Simpson Satchel (worn as a clutch), Illamasqua "Milf" Nailpolish, Essie "Lilacism" Nailpolish, Make Up For Ever Lipstick

The weather here on the East Coast has been pretty brutal.  The blazing hot temps make me want to do nothing more than sit under an air conditoner eating ice cream.  I had to make my way out into the heat to attend a meeting.  My best bet was to throw on something lightweight and neutral.  Neutrals can sometime look blah if just paired all together.  I added a pop of coral to brighten it up a bit.

Fringe Benefits

Jul18

As much as I like to indulge in trends, I tend to rock to my own beat when it comes to fashion.  The "it" piece can turn into a thing of the past in the blink of an eye.  I haven't seen fringe bags going on in the streets as much as I used to.  This weekend I went throught my closet (trust it was a battle), but I found my mine that I bought 2 years ago (pictured above).  I will continue to rock it into the fall season too.

I found a few that I think you fly fashionistaz will love as well.

City Slicker

Jul15

As much as I'm inspired by women's street style, I tend to notice what men are wearing as well.  One of my favorite looks are when men pair sneakers with a suited look.  This layout is an inspired look for a project that I'm working on.
