Have you ever had a friend that just did her own thing when it came to fashion? I've known several people. They've inspired me to take more risks with my outfit choices as well as pieces that I buy. Fall is the best season to incorporate several different trends in to many looks. The LWD (little white dress) is outta here, the LBD (little black dress) is on stand-by and the LBD (little blue dress) has entered the scene. Let's not forget the colorful satchel and vicious accessories.

Here on the East Coast, we had to deal with Hurricane Irene. Fortunately, there wasn't much damage in my neigborhood and the residents were okay. Public transportation is slowly getting back to normal as well as companies conducting business as usual. On Thursday, I had ordered these shoes (you can find a similar pair here). After such a nerve-wracking weekend, it was a pleasant surprise to see them show up at my door.

I haven't been more excited about a pair of sunglasses since the discovery of these. Prada has created a pair of sunglasses that doubles as a piece of artwork. The sculpt temples and frames are so attention getting to these distinctive round sunglasses. With color blocking still being a hot trend, the D-frame shades adds just the right element of a pop of color with classic black and white.

Hip-hop has been an instrumental part of my career. As a kid, I always wanted the two-finger ring, boom-box and go to the parties. Unfortunately, I was too young and didn't get a chance to experience it. I had a dope conversation last night about hip-hop. I was schooled and inspired. If I wasn't as passionate as I am about the fashion industry, music would've been my first choice. Here are a few photos (some personal and found on the web) that are an inspiration to me.

Don't you just love delicious arm candy? The notion of less is more has seem to gone out the window. What do you think of the idea of piling on all types of bracelets?
P.S. Please check out some of my own piling I did here and a two-in-one bracelet here.

When I worked at a media firm, I loved the flexibility I had with my wardrobe. I was able to mix and match trendy pieces, but also tailor the look a bit as I did here with the Alexander Wang cut-out blazer. This look I styled came from that inspiration. I kept it simple with a black and white palette. Layering simple accessories adds a touch of personality. The trendy Yves Saint Laurent Baobab Python wedge sandals ties the entire look together. This look is great for the end of summer style as the weather is a bit cooler.
FYI: T by Alexander Wang tee shirts are so lush. It's worth the investment. What do you think of this look?

I love shopping for beauty products just as much as I love shopping for clothes. As we're nearing fall, the beauty products have to switch up as well. While we want to look our best, we shouldn't have to sacrifice paying so much money. I found these products that are pretty great for the price. I swear by this mascara and this cleanser. I'd love to know what budget beauty products do you love.

Express Top and Clutch (similar clutch here), H&M Belt, Avon Reversible Skirt, Nine West Platforms, PNK Accessories Cuff
I had worn this skirt for the first time here. The weather was a bit cooler and it was only fitting to pair it with all black. Fast forward to August and I wanted a new and more fun way to wear the skirt. With so many colors, I had alot of options. The ruffled blue top was just enough to make it pop. I paired the look with vicious accessories to toughen it up a bit. What do you think?

{Distressed tee paired with lucite and gold necklace}
These pieces are straight from the Fashionistaz Life closet. Even though these looks probably won't be seen in your fall fashion mags, or probably were (a la Dolce and Gabanna Fall 2010) its still the ish. Werq that confidence girl! Wear them as you see fit.

Zoe Saldana was getting a little retail therapy on in Beverly Hills while rocking a Bird by Juicy Couture romper and See by Chloe Ostrich bag. While her shoes are by Ann Taylor, I found a similar platform with a peek of leopard by Two Lips. Are you feeling her look?
