NYFW 2012: Shauntele

I had the pleasure of attending up and coming designer Shauntele's F/W show during New York Fashion Week. There were alot of shiny nylon spandex fabric with pops of fur and leather. What's great about this collection is its versatility. You can rock the dresses to work with a cardigan or blazer. For an evening look, you can remove the jacket add some flashy earrings and go!

Forget the glass slipper affect. These shoes spotted during this past New York Fashion Week 2011 would make you wanna skip a few bill payments to get these in your closet. There were so many beautiful styles from designers Rodarte, Ruthie Davis, Betsey Johnson and L.A.M.B. just to name a few.

IFB Conference

So, remember I had mentioned I attended a conference for bloggers when I did the post here. I had the pleasure of attending the Independent Fashion Bloggers Evolving Influence conference. This was the first year that I attended the conference. IFB founder Jennine put together a fantastic event which had guest speakers (I'll get to that in a minute) and bloggers meeting up with other bloggers. It was very informative and a full day of networking and partying ;-)

Last night was the 62nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards. It was the first time in forever that I watched pratically the entire show. Jimmy Fallon was a good choice as a host. He was hilarious. The gowns that the starlets wore were amazing. Kim Kardashian was a hard act to follow as she looked stunning in this white goddess style Marchesa gown. I was most suprised to see Wanda Sykes even put on a dress.

Celebs have a crazy way of expressing themselves when performing on stage. Rihanna is one of those celebs. She has a tendency to let her fingers wander way down yonder while on stage. To make things even funnier/freakier, she has these facial expressions that are priceless. I mean, Michael Jackson was known for grabbing the crotch, but something about the way Rihanna does it seems she enjoys a little more than her audience does.

Remembering Aaliyah: Appearance At 9 On Star Search & Candid Photos

We lost such a beautiful and talented singer/dancer Aaliyah who was killed in a plane crash in 2001. Prior to her death her music was getting constant rotation and she was taping into the acting scene. We could only imagine how much of a success she would be if she were here today. Her music lives on and she will be forever missed. #RIP

My inspiration to hit the gym more often. :-) When she's not hitting up red carpets in short form fitting dresses, she wears short shorts as her style staple when out and about. She was in New York recently rocking the Alexander Wang Freja knee high heel boots with her shorts.
