Spring is the time of the year when flowers bloom and the earth renews herself..lucky for us, the same goes for music. Spring is the Festival season. With all the great hoopla over events like Coachella, Australia's Superfest & SXSW, I thought I'd give some of my picks for dressing in the festival season. It's perfect time for taking in new music and/or your favorite band, often times in a beautiful outdoor venue. For me that is a call for comfort! Be it a day in the hot sun or a mild day with a touch of drizzle, comfort is key when your out in the field enjoying a high energy performance or back stage taking in a VIP buffet. Recently, I went into my closet to see what I needed for summer. I was amazed that I had so many black and grey pieces (I think it's a NY thing). I took the plunge and vowed to only purchase pieces that consisted of bright, bold colors.

Embellished coral semi-sheer top. I'd rock this with cut-off shorts and flat sandals.

Chevron print dress. I love the pops of coral in it.

I'll admit I've always looked at a striped dress as a piece reserved for daytime only. With an effort to get more bang for your buck, I came up with a way to wear the same dress more nighttime appropriate. By throwing on a tuxedo jacket, strappy heels, sequin clutch and cocktail ring, it still shows off your sexiness without trying too hard.

My daytime look consists of flats and comfortable pants. Instead of having such a casual outfit look so blah, I up the flyness factor by making sure they consist of cool prints. In this layout, the printed pants and flats work because of the pink and black in both pieces. Don't be afraid to mix and match prints and create a look uniquely yours. Also, it's a great lounging around weekend look. Top it off with an eye-catching canvas tote and an updated friendship bracelet.

Everywhere you look, it's all about neon. I haven't rocked neon since the 90s, so I had to jump on the trend. I started small by purchasing this satchel. I've developed enough courage to wear a neon blouse. I'm still on the fence for rocking a neon biker jacket. I usually don't invest a lot of money on trendy pieces, but it looks pretty fly.

Over a week ago, the temps were near 80 degrees. I always have a rule of never going without a jacket until May. I was at a loss of what jacket would be appropriate and I wouldn't being a hot sweaty mess. I was on my way to lunch and wanted to be comfortable. These loafers are the most comfortable pair of flats I own. Don't you hate when you buy flats that pinch your feet?
