Life is funny. Not in an amusing sense, but in an ironic sense. I was thinking back the other day the many "friends" I've made over my 20-something years. I thought of how, when and where I met them. Boy did I have a good laugh...LOL. Cause honey, I've had the weirdest experiences when it came to meeting people. Then I thought about why some of them remained in my life, while others disappeared. I've delt with issues of backstabbing, gossip, jealousy, immaturity. The list can go on and on. I've accepted that I'm not perfect either and tried to reconcile some of the friendships, but wait... At what point is someone considered a friend or an aquaintance? Does it really matter how long you've known someone for the friendship to be over and call it a loss or should longevity be taken into account? I always say Friendship and Love are the two most loosely used words in the English language. At my age, I've yet to get solid answers to these questions. I guess I have alot to learn. Life is funny. People can be "funny." I live, laugh and love...

WMC RAW // Kelis from Arcade44.tv on Vimeo.
Kelis is making her rounds promoting songs from her upcoming album Flesh Tone. She performed the singles "22 Century" and "4 of July" during the Winter Music Conference in Miami. Her new music is more electro-pop. I've always been a Kelis stan. She has such a unique and distinctive voice. Glad to see she's back doing her thing.
Talk about a mean shoe game. It should be ridiculous to have a show this fly. I'm now accepting applications to #sponsor my shoe habit...Haha. You can get your own red bottoms here

Rihanna continue to show us why she's the hottest b*tch in heels. She made her way on the orange carpet of the 2010 Kids Choice Awards. She also performed a medley of her songs "Hard" and "Rude Boy" and "Don't Stop The Music." I was wondering how she was gonna perform "Rude Boy" with the suggestive lyrics:
"Come Here Rude Boy, Boy Can You Get It Up/ Come Here Rude Boy, Boy Is You Big Enough."
But she made the lyrics and the perfomance kid friendly. Check out more of her orange carpet and performance pics after the jump.
Spring is almost near and it's time to step your shoe game up. These kicks by Dior Homme are just what a baller (not neccessarily the NBA type) needs for his wardrobe. These kicks can be worn with casual looks like jeans or shorts or with a suit to put your own twist to the look.

Besides being beautiful and talented artists in their own right, Kelis and Melanie Fiona are rocking an ongoing trend for spring/summer. The maxi dress is one piece a woman should have in her closet. It can be glamed up like Kelis who accessorize her dress with a gold belt and hip gold earrings, while Melanie went more relaxed and bohemian which works best for day.

Rihanna teams up with Rick Ross on the remix for "Rude Boy." I liked this song the first time that I heard it. I wonder if they're gonna do a video for this song. I could picture them on an island somewhere and Rihanna and her 'rude boys' whining the night away :-).
Check out the song above. What do you think of the remix?

Jill Scott is seen here working the red carpet at the Why Did I Get Married Too? NYC premiere. She looks stunning in this body hugging dress. Her shoes, hair, makeup and divatude are on point. Work it Jill!
Oh and did you see her on Law & Order SVU last night? She killed that role. Proud of her.

Jay-Zand Absolut Vodka have teamed up as par tof the Absolut Concert Series to bring you NY-Z. NY-Z is a 15 minute documentary that Jay-Z and director and photographer Danny Clinch worked on. In this documentary, Jay-Z talks his artistry, his imagination, and how he reps for NYC. I saw this when I went to the March 2 concert and had know idea this was gonna be distributed online. It's great to see someone who came from humble beginnings and work hard to reach mogul status. I always say...Dream BIG, cause they do come true.
